About Us
It all started when we researched the ingredients in the food and treats we were giving our beloved dog - a vizsla named Pippa. We were shocked by their lack of nutritional value. The glossy images of real meat and fresh vegetables on the packaging had very little in common with the actual ingredients. As we quickly learned, most dog food is made from poor-quality, feed-grade ingredients with added fillers, chemicals and preservatives – all baked together at high temperatures.
Frustrated we couldn’t find products that met our standards, we founded Campfire Treats in 2017 to provide you and your four-legged family members the best all-natural single-ingredient treats and chews.
Premium Ingredients, Ethically Sourced
What we feed our dogs has a direct impact on their health, quality of life and longevity. That’s why we only source premium meat, poultry and wild-caught ocean fish – all from U.S. farms and fisheries. We will never use any additives, chemicals, fillers or preservatives. Everything in our products is 100% natural.
We believe that all animals should be treated with kindness and respect. This includes farm animals raised for meat. To keep us and our farm partners accountable to the highest standards of animal welfare, we work with independent certification organizations like Certified Humane and the Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P.). We are also the first pet (or human) food company in the world in full compliance with all requirements of the Better Chicken Commitment – a global campaign to improve the lives of the billions of chickens raised for meat.
Handcrafted in the USA
All our treats and chews are handmade in small batches in our own FDA-inspected facility in Rocklin, California. Nothing is imported. Nothing is outsourced. This gives us complete control over quality – from the farms and fisheries we source ingredients from – all the way to the finished product leaving our warehouse.
We buy in small quantities and keep only minimum inventory in stock. You and your dog will immediately notice the freshness, which you’ll never find with products from big box retailers. Most products are shipped within days of being made – from us directly to your doorstep.
We also strive to minimize our company’s environmental footprint wherever we can. We’ve taken concrete steps to reduce waste including transitioning to fully compostable shipping materials and are proud to be one of the first American pet food companies certified as a plastic neutral business.
Today, Campfire Treats offers one of the largest (and constantly growing) selections of all-natural, single-ingredient dog treats and chews made on the West Coast.
