Campfire Treats was born out of both frustration and love.
When we researched the ingredients of the food and treats we had been giving to our beloved family dog Pippa, we were frustrated by the lack of nutritional value we found. The ingredients had very little to do with the glossy pictures of the real meat and fresh vegetables printed on the packaging. As we quickly learned, most dog food and treats consist of poor-quality feed-grade ingredients, fillers, additives, chemicals and preservatives; all baked together in high-temperature processes.
It’s not that we couldn’t do better. The United States is one of the most abundant agricultural countries in the world. We are surrounded by farms and fisheries producing the finest quality produce, meats and fish. Yet hardly anything of this is ending up in the bowls of our dogs and cats.
It goes without saying that we changed Pippa’s diet to healthy human-grade food with lots of fresh meat, fish, vegetables and fruit. At the same time, we started to make all-natural single-ingredient treats for her. She loved them, and so did the dogs of our friends and neighbors.
Inspired by the enthusiastic feedback we received, the idea to start a dog treat business was born. We founded Campfire Treats shortly afterwards.
Right from the start, we made it our philosophy to only work with locally sourced, premium USDA certified meats and wild-caught fish. All Campfire Treats are entirely free of any additives, chemicals, fillers or preservatives. We also decided to craft all treats and chews in our own facility, instead of outsourcing the production to one of the many contract manufacturers offering their services. This has given us the unique control over quality we wanted to have.
Today, we are proud that Campfire Treats offers one of the largest and constantly growing selections of all-natural, single-ingredient dog treats and chews made on the West Coast.
We hope your dogs love their Campfire Treats as much as Pippa and her friends do.
