I have a 6 month old German Shepherd pup (Beau) and an 8 year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, Bella (who I rescued when she was about 5 weeks old). They LOVE Campfire Treats. I use these and the chicken gizzards and hearts (when they are in stock) are training treats for Beau. Bella has never been very treat motivated, but she LOVES these beef heart bites. They only treats she loves more than these are the chicken heart bites.
Beau has been having trouble being reactive (he's a bit nervous around older doggies!) on the leash when we walk, so we have been practicing distraction and disassociation. These treats are so great for that. As soon as I spot another dog, I pull out a treat, wave it in front of him, get him focused more on the deliciousness (he's very food motivated!), give him, the treat, grab another, and praise him as we pass for not focusing on the dog, but focusing rather on me and the treat. It's been working like a charm and he's been reacting a lot less. These are our "high value" treats we use for the really tough training!
I've recommended you all to all of my friends with dogs (and cats! My kitty loves your sardines!).
Thank you for all you do! Please provide more chicken hearts whenever you can!!! :)
